Summary

Entry level position. Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems of facility by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bends & cuts conduit wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceiling for electrical connections.
• Connects wire to motor, fixtures and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, splices wires and insulates wire with friction tape.
• Patches or replaces plaster board and paint walls, ceiling, and trim of building.
• Must be able to make periodic maintenance of facility systems.
• Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Installs lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wall boxes and terminal boards.
• Reads blueprints, shop drawings, or written instructions to determine method and sequence of assembling parts.
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
• Responsible for ground maintenance activities.
• Diagnosis cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
• The Casino is 24hrs 7 days a week operation and may be required to work any or all shifts.
• Must understand and comply with departmental internal control regulations.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as carry heavy supplies and equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to make emergency service calls.
• Knowledge of construction and retrofitting projects.
• Ability to be part of a team, and participate as a team member.
• Ability and initiative to adapt to 8 different trades and learn them accordingly.
• Ability to follow all CDC guidelines in regards to COVID-19.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must be certifiable through the Cocopah Tribal Gaming office.
• Success candidates will be subject to pre-employment and on-going random drug testing.
• Must be able to paint and perform structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishing of buildings.
• Must be COVID-19 vaccinated or must obtain upon hire.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
Associates degree, or trade school, technical college or equivalent preferred
3-year work experience in related field
